(as reported) Somer was fired from the sitcom in 1980. Her beach front house burnt in 2007, the two empty lots were sold for 12.03 mil in 2016.
I listened a second time, to that which you posted, trying to understand what caught your attention. My takeaway: the theme is Fear.
Government oversteps in keeping “us” safe, out of fear.
The Media are fear mongers.
“We” (those over an unknown certain age) were scared of our friends fathers.

I thought you were just being flippant and having a bit of fun.
Mr Stossel is a “Libertarian”. That is how he ‘identifies’ by his own words.
Mr Carolla is a different animal…I will not try to define him… I refuse to be that presumptuous. But as I was writing my little diatribe on the odious Philip Ludwell, I had Youtube on the TV and by pure happenstance this little interview between Stossel and Corolla popped up. I stopped in my tracks and watched the interview somewhat spellbound… I agreed and understood every word out of each of their brains… particularly Corolla. Mr Carolla, true to his word, does not give a sh*t what anyone may think of him… he says what he thinks and he means what he says.
All ‘comedy’ is based on pain. It is hilarious when a man steps on a banana peel and is catapulted to fall on his ass. It is funny when someone else is embarrassed… as long as it is not yourself. I could go on…
Carolla is a comedian because he can see pain… which in my mind, means that he is empathetic. I can understand that… there is no particular reward… it just is.

I am more of what you would call an “Objectivist”… per, yes, Ayn Rand. I have read every word she wrote (that I could find). I have never met one other than my self… but like I said… I understood every word Carolla said.
