My dog in this fight (genealogy) is William Anderson d. 1789 in Edgecombe Co.,NC.  I trace to his son George.  My search is for his line and it just seems logical to investigate the closest culprits, hence I have targeted George Anderson of Isle of Wight.  My reasons are simple – William of Edgecombe named a son George and another son Carlos. If you dig around my posts you can find my reasons for suspecting Elizabeth d. 1733 and Carolus d. 1750ish of being the wife and son of George of IOW.  Its as simple as that.  The other Andersons that show up are just sidelines of my research which I wish to share with other researchers… the Robert Anderson line of Cashy River area is just waiting to be claimed as an ancestor.  Another is the George who died in 1757 (I will try to add some info later as time permits).  There is no particular rhyme or reason to what I post… all the Andersons of NC seem to be orphans and I’m just throwing a wet finger in the air looking for a direction to follow.

I’m also a history buff… there is enough clues to goad me on to suspect that James Anderson of Occoneechee was an indian trader and may be the brother of Carolus and possibly the uncle of William of Edgecombe.  Works for me… now if it can just be proven, 🙂
