Andersons of Colonial N. Carolina

So I run across a John Anderson as a witness to a deed in 1734… The deed was for a William Brown with wife Charity selling property… in 1734 this would be Bertie “precinct”. There was no Edgecombe County yet, and much less a Martin County. The deed description leaves no doubt about where this land was, it was in modern Martin County.

But then I remembered the Rodney Dangerfield of Martin County! That would be Robert Anderson who has never gotten any respect whatsoever. So I have it in my mind that this clue should lead to a serious investigation of these folks:
