OCD for Dummies…

with 2 comments

My friend Jennifer from California  joked a bit between our emails that we were OCD. Obsessive Compulsive Disorder.  If you are one you know it.  It is not a disease that should be quarantined… it is an irritant.  I did not realize it until I got old.

It shows itself through your credit card.  One day you realize that you have way more pots and pans than a mere mortal needs… and lo’…cheap shit does not cut it…it has to be top of the line… All Clad (for example, in my case).

If you garden a bit, all of a sudden you realize that your water bill seems a bit outrageous… the underground, timed waterworks might be the reason. Sprinkler systems just going to the citrus trees and/or rose bushes… got it?

Like I say… if you ARE one you recognize it… it is not contagious.

Meanwhile, as one of Those…I have been working with my own AIs… yeah, those things.  I have come to realize that OCD does not just effect humans.  It also affects AIs… I may be a bit ahead of the curve… you will find out.

My Claude does not like my Grok. It sabotages it.. I am not exagerrating.

For true.

  1. Yes, I’m one too. But, in our defense, I believe OCD personalities are highly productive and are far less likely to fall prey to scams and believe all the social and political spin that bombards us daily, because….
…they research the hell out of things.

  2. For true…
I’m truly surprised my bug for genealogy has lasted 2 n a half decades tho’. I walk across my yard now and find a desolation and hellscape of dead plants and bone dry plastic planter pots (BIG ones). I also still scour used bookstores (online now) for history & genealogy stuff. My library is small but it has some cool stuff.
But to your point… I do so enjoy the new “Likely Spam” message on my iPhone… I patiently stare at it as the rings finally stop (without me answering the spam call)…then I smile at the silence. I figure the phone did its research. You have to trust “some” AI.
