Who the hell IS this guy?

I can’t find NUTHIN’ on this guy…. a little help?

My meager attempt to add this Mary Jackson is just a shot in the dark…

My objective is just to fill up this space on my map…

  1. I don’t readily find a George Jackson around where your looking, but I find one as a witness to an 1801 deed in Nottoway. A peculiar thing to me is that he is found on a webpage dedicated to the genealogy of a James Anderson (Will Book 9, Page 772, Surry County, Virginia) that is son of a Thomas Anderson (will 1711) of Prince George.

    Any kin to Carolus?

    https://homepages.rootsweb.com/~anderson/va/trees/jamest.html

“James Anderson of Prince George County and sells 104 acres near the Nottoway River which he must have acquired before the surviving 1710 book of Prince George County. He sells it to Joshua Meachum and records it in Surry County”

    There’s a Meachum fellar also.

This indenture made this Seventh day of May in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and one between Hannah Anderson, Rebecca Anderson, and Lucy Anderson all of the County of Nottoway of the one part and William Moore of the County aforesaid of the other part Witnesseth that the said Hannah Anderson Rebecca Anderson and Lucy Anderson for and in consideration of the sum of seventy pounds sixteen shillings current money of Virginia to them in hand paid, the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged, have bargained and sold and by these presents do, and each of then doth bargain and sell unto the said William Moore his heirs and assigns one certain tract or parcel of land containing by survey fifty nine acres situate lying and being in the county aforesaid and bounded by the lands of Charles Sallard, Thomas Connally, Peter Hawks and John Quarles together with all and singular the appurtenances threreunto belonging or in any way appertaining to have and to hold the said tract or parcel of land with the tenements heriditaments and all and singular other the premises herein before mentioned or intended to be bargained and sold and every part and parcel thereof, with every of their rights member and appurtenances unto the said William Moore his heirs and assigns forever, and the said Hannah Anderson, Rebecca Anderson and Lucy Anderson for themselves and their heirs executors and administrators the said tract or parcel of land with all and singular the premises and appurtenances before mentioned, unto the said William Moore his heirs and assigns free from the claim or claims of the said Hannah Anderson, Rebecca Anderson and Lucy Anderson or either of them their or either of their heirs executtors and administrators and of all and every person or persons whatsoever shall will and do warrant and forever defend by these presents; In witness whereof the said Hannah Anderson, Rebecca Anderson and Lucy Anderson have hereunto set their hands and affixed their seals the day and year above written.

  2. I have never found an instance where Carolus Anderson of NC has interacted with any of the Virginia Andersons of Prince George or Henrico. I have scoured these records…
    https://homepages.rootsweb.com/~anderson/virginia.html

With that being said, I have always left a thought that it is “possible” that he may have had connections to that bunch… I just have not found a connection.

    • Stephen…
I hate to be blunt… but you do not have to add every thought. I am not looking how to build a watch… I just want to know what time it is.

The Browns you just cited have nothing to do with the Browns I have cited in NC… nothing! Another commenter of mine went to the expense of publishing a hardcover book which cited some of those Browns… I have, sadly and to my consternation, proven him wrong. I take this stuff seriously even though I may come across with a sense of humor. I don’t laugh at dead people…I laugh at death.

Let’s keep things aggravatingly specific… you know, on topic.

  4. I hope I am not coming across as arrogant, Stephen, I respect your skills… I am just trying to get a little focus.
The legal citation you sent is astounding… (the Gee patent in another post).
I just want to temper you enthusiasm and skills…

In this modern age we miss that section of the newspaper called the Editorial Section
where we mere mortals could opine to the readers of that newspaper… but we had to wait for the mail. Folks who comment, I hope, sit back and compose their thoughts to reach that greater audience… and over time.

    • Capiche.

I know a lot of my comments have been on the theoretical side and have just been trying to point out some clues that I come across that may or may not have fruition. I realize some of your focus and interest do not pertain to some commentary that I have made, but guess they were for general consumption in hopes of sparking an new idea or reply to advance research. My research is not too focused at the moment and will pull random strings and sometimes may come across something that may be an answer for somebody else.

With that being said, I can see that I may appear over enthusiastic and will temper and adapt. No hard feelings and will help anyway if I can.

Richard Jackson of Nottoway Parrish made his will, Oct. 14, 1740, pro., June 22, 1741, legatees, wife, Sarah, daughters Mary, Sarah and Katherine, granddaughters Ann Stuart.(Bk. 2l04)

      This may be your Mary.

  5. Are you suggesting the daughter of Richard Jackson married Carolus Anderson?

    • No. Disregard, It was in relation to searching on Jackson, but jumped the gun as I see Mary’s land was in 1724.
